How to deploy Return to Workplace Facility Dashboard

This is the second part of the deployment process, we are deploying the initial dashboard, other dashboards will follow a similar deployment process, connecting to the Dataverse (CDS) and the external sources.

We will only be deploying the Return to Workplace Facility Management Dashboard for this scenario and the other dashboard will follow a similar deployment process, at this time we will simplify documenting only this dashboard.

Where to find the Return to the Workplace Facility Dashboard?

The Return to Workplace Facility management dashboard can be deployed from Appsource and will automate the deployment process, and the daily refresh schedule, these are the links for all available dashboards.

Required items for the Facility Dashboard.

The Facility Dashboard and all 2 other dashboards will require the users to have the Power BI Pro license assigned to them before to be able to use these dashboards.

Before deploying the dashboard will require you to first deploy the Return to Workplace Applications,  this will require the Dataverse (CDS) tables and schema definitions. We will deploy the dashboard from AppSource and then configure the data sources (CDS and External data sources), there will be 10 external data sources that will be configured and validated in the dashboard.

One of the most common issues with one of the dashboards connections is missing part of the URL prefix, for the Dataverse organization URL please include the “https://” prefix to be able to connect and validate the configuration.

Note:

Before January 2021, we have noticed that some of the external sources have changed their schema in one way or another and make the dashboard to generate an error message, we will be working diligently to fix those issues as soon as possible, we will be communicating on the RTW community forums for manual fixes or when is been resolved.
